Chúc Ngọc Cán

Born in 1980, Chúc Ngọc Cán is a Hanoi-based artist whose work delves into the dimensions beyond our tangible reality. A graduate of the Hanoi University of Fine Arts (2006), Cán's bold surrealist landscapes are characterized by stark line work, shadowy figures, and cracked planes of existence.

His use of UV paints lends his psychedelic expressions a luminous vibrancy, drawing viewers into the liminal space between perception and imagination.

As a founding member of Hanoi Link, Chúc has played an integral role in fostering collaborative artistic communities in Vietnam and beyond. His work has been showcased in a variety of international and domestic exhibitions, including the "Friends" Group Exhibition at 43 Tràng Tiền (2001), "Faces" at Gallery BACDO (2004), and "Pictures & Sound" at Chim Sao (2005). He has participated in notable events such as the Vietnam–Norway–Germany Graphic Camp (2005) and the charity-focused Group Exhibition in Germany.

Chúc’s pioneering spirit is evident in experimental showcases like the HanoiLink processing exhibition "Smell Life," supported by the Dongsontoday Foundation in Phú Thượng Flower Village (2007), and the arts party "The Pig & An Individual Vision" on Tết Eve 2007.

His work has also traveled internationally, with the "HanoiLink – A Preview" exhibition in Richmond, Melbourne, Australia (2007).

Through his art, Chúc Ngọc Cán invites audiences to traverse beyond the everyday, challenging perceptions and evoking a profound sense of wonder.
